What’s wrong with golf?

What’s wrong with the golf industry? I am so tired of the continuous lies being told to the golfing world about how and what the “ top dogs” in the golf industry are doing to try and grow the game. Is it inclusion? Because if that’s the case, they are doing a terrible job. Before I get into the money aspect, which is a huge problem that has yet to be addressed. Actually, I think it all boils down to money. Lets do everything we can to grow the game and include everyone, as long as they can afford the play this absurdly expensive game. Kids grow up watching their favorite athletes on tv and aspire to be like them one day, but can’t even afford to go to the driving range and practice. Ok, so let’s say you can afford to go to the range and work on your game. Now you want to go and compete to show your skills in competition. You thought buying range balls and playing the occasional round of golf was expensive, hey mom, hey dad, do you have $500 for me to enter into this tournament?

This is exactly why golf is stuck, and it is going nowhere in a hurry. Golf has always been a rich mans game, but it has become more like a private club. Now i’m not talking about the private club that me, you and the majority of others are excluded from. The golf industry has excluded so many people from diving in to the sport, by overcharging and making the game out of reach for so many of us, by the prices of golf clubs, apparel, and course rates. Don’t get me started on the restrictions placed on left-handed golfers. What’s up with that? I understand lefties are a very small part of the population, but can I please get a selection of clubs that is larger than my kitchen pantry? I realize that is a bit much to ask for, so I guess your response to that is “ good luck”. If you want to create inclusion in the game of golf, it starts from the top. Yes i’m speaking to you USGA, PGA and every major golf manufacturer.
